April 2009 Rebuild- Teixeira Tech Linkage install, new frame, new shock
After blowing apart the rear shock mount on my last race frame and not knowing why I decided to rebuild with all new parts. Lone Star Racing gave me a great deal on a new 06 geometry race frame built to my specs. They are a great company to deal with. Jim at Motowoz has been begging me to try out a real long travel rear suspension setup via a Teixeira Tech Linkage and custom rear shock so I decided to go for it. The linkage arrived within days of ordering it and Ed Teixeira was great to talk to and he explained everything I wanted to know about his product over the phone. His linkage is designed around the 06+ swingarm too which is great news for me because I have no interest in dropping money on another swing arm.
The AC Racing skidplate is the easist skidplate to modify to fit with this awesome new linkage so I found one of those on ebay for $75 which is half of retail. This skidplate has a bottom piece that will protect the linkage from rocks, unlike other linkages which require you to gut the entire skid plate leaving the linkage exposed. You can see where I marked and cut the linkage in the photos below.
